Do not expose your books to extreme changes in temperature or humidity. This will cause damage to the cover, binding and pages. Hot temperatures can cause the paper to dry out and become brown and brittle. High humidity can cause mold to grow on your books and between pages. Extreme changes in temperature or humidity can cause the pages to expand and contract, warping the pages. The ideal storage conditions to keep your book are temperatures between 55° and 95° F and humidity between 5% to 60%.
If you have an book that has warped pages due to high humidity it is recommended that you place the book in a cool dry place with a silicone gel pack for 48 hours of more to remove excess moisture.
Avoid storing your book in direct sunlight. Sunlight provides both heat and harmful UV rays. Heat will damage the pages and direct sunlight will cause your both the interior and exterior of your books to fade.
Dust as needed with a soft, dry cloth and when necessary, remove dirt gently with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals to clean your book as this will void the manufacturer’s warranty should damage occur.
Store flat, not upright. Storing upright can cause damage to the binding and result in bowed pages.
